Course developer: Meredith Caskey

Caskey spent more than two decades teaching environmental education for the University of Iowa. She then transitioned to lecturing on the topic of wellness, health, and physical activity two years ago. Her areas of expertise include wellness policies in schools, mindfulness and meditation, and emotional wellness for teachers.

About the course:

Take an 8-week journey - made with PreK-12 educators in mind - rooted in well-being and reflection. Each week, we will integrate self-awareness with new strategies to better support your well-being that will transcend into your teaching.

Complete 8 online modules, 1 per week on your own time

Each week includes short videos, readings, a discussion board post, journal activity, and an opportunity to reflect.

Learning objectives:

  1. Synthesize wellness skills like mindful movement and breath work authentically into each day.
  2. Summarize the value that daily healthy habits have on our overall well-being.
  3. Compose plans for committing to practicing wellness techniques for a healthy present and future.

**Attention: for educators outside the state of Iowa, if you wish to use this learning experience for an educator licensure renewal credit, check with your admin or licensure governing body for approval.
