Course Dates: Saturday August 1-29, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm daily (Virtual). Participants will need to register by visiting this website.
Course Description: This course will support coaches and mentors as work to learn and develop strategies to be an effective leader of a FIRST Tech Challenge team. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about all of the aspects of FTC: including tips for building and programming the robot, team fundraising and outreach, and how to prepare for a team judge interview. Participants will be hearing from current FTC leadership, current student participants, alumni, other current FTC coaches and volunteers who are considered "experts".
Course Objectives: Participants will be able to:
- deepen their understanding of what being a FIRST Tech Challenge coach/mentor entails;
- share ideas of best practices with other coaches and mentors;
- learn about different elements of FIRST Tech Challenge from experts across the United States and Canada;
Course Materials: Participants should have a device that allows them to access the Canvas Catalog course and Google Drive.
