Intended Audience: Iowa Talented and Gifted 2024 Fall Conference Attendees

Course Description: This course encourages attendance at the fall ITAG Conference and reflection on the learning from the sessions attended. Content for reflections will be unique to each individual, but all will be in the field of advanced learning. The course will be a combination of attendance at the conference and submission of reflections online.

It is intended to engage those new to the world of advanced learning as well as those who may need the credit in working toward their Iowa TAG endorsement.

Course Learning Goals:

  1. Increase awareness of key leaders and theories in the field of gifted education
  2. Increase awareness of topics and issues related to talent development
  3. Promote active reflection of current trends in the field of gifted education
  4. Encourage collaboration among those interested in the field of gifted education
  5. Foster advocacy for advanced students within school settings

Course Requirements:

  1. Attend the in-person ITAG 2024 Fall Conference facilitated by the Iowa Talented and Gifted Association in Des Moines on October 14-15, 2024.
  2. Attend a minimum of 8 sessions
  3. Explore information at a minimum of 4 booths in the exhibit hall
  4. Complete and submit reflections through the online course platform (Canvas)

*The remote follow-up will be scheduled during the on-campus session. The exepctations for each of these sessions will be detailed prior to the conclusion of the on-campus Fellowship.

Course Materials: Materials for the course will be made available on the online course platform (Canvas).
