Full course description

This is the 1 credit teacher licensure renewal option. You must engage in 15 hours of coursework within this conference to earn 2 credits. These credits have been approved by the Iowa BOEE for licensed Iowa teachers.

The White Privilege Conference examines and explores white supremacy, white privilege, diversity, multicultural education, leadership, social justice, race, racism, sexism, sexual orientation, sexual identity, religion and all systems of power, privilege and oppression through a lens of intersectionality. The WPC is not about "beating up on white folks." We are committed to challenging, interrupting and/or dismantling white supremacy, white privilege and the cycle of oppression. The WPC draws a diverse group of participants from academia, K-12 education, business, the faith community, social workers, community activists, and more. Our participants expect privilege to be addressed comprehensively and through a lens of intersectionality every workshop, every day.
