BBALI: Belin-Blank Advanced Learner Institute

Date: July 16th, 2025 (but site will remain open through Aug 16, 2025 to acquire the Licensure Renewal Credit)

Intended Audience: K-9 Educators

Institute/Course Description: This one day face-to-face session’s content will focus on concepts, ideas, and issues pertinent to the development of talent (and its potential) in K-8 students. The key course content is intended to be practical in nature and include appropriate curriculum and instruction, assessment and identification, collaborating with staff and families, differentiation, diverse student populations, and social and emotional needs. The session will consist of at least one keynote aspect with choice break-out sessions for the participants.

Interested individuals may register and participate in one of three ways:

1) Attend the one-day Belin-Blank Advanced Learner Institute for the learning,

2) Attend the one-day Belin-Blank Advanced Learner Institute for the learning and earn one Iowa Licensure Renewal Unit, or

3) Attend the one-day Belin-Blank Advanced Learner Institute for the learning and earn one university credit. (Please note: participants may earn one ILRU and one university credit. There is an additional registration process and fee for university credit. If you are interested in the one university credit option, please contact us at educators@belinblank.org.

Learning Goals:

• Introduce key leaders and theories in the field of gifted education
• Share practical ideas and stargeies for educators to utilize in their local settings
• Provide networking opportunities

ILRU Course Requirements:

1.  Attend the entire on-campus Belin-Blank Center Educator Workshop facilitated by the Belin-Blank Center on July 16, 2025.
2. Complete the online course activity requirements

The Canvas site will be left open for a month to provide participants to complete the follow-up learming experiences.

Course Materials: Materials for the course will be made available during the on-campus component and on the Canvas site.

* Note: There will be a $50 cancellation fee for requests received up to three weeks (June 25th by 12PM CST) before the start of B-BALI. Unfortunately, there are no refunds after this date.

*Attention: If you wish to use this course for licensure renewal credit, make sure to check with your school district for approval prior to registering for the course.
